Royal Republic, who will appear at this year’s Download, have released their new single, Lazerlove. The intergalactic power ballard is the second single from their new album Lovecop, set for release on 7 June 2024.
The accompanying video has the master of seductive ceremony, played by lead singer/guitarist Adam Grahn, swooning beneath the rays of sultry stadium spotlights.
“Royal Republic proudly presents our very first power ballad, Lazerlove,” the band said. “Every party needs a slow dance. So turn the lights down low, turn the volume up. Lose yourselves in the eyes of your most favourite lover as you dance the night away to the tune of this butter-dripping goodness. Lazerlove is a song about love across the room… across time… across the universe.”
The Swedish power-disco quartet earlier released the title track from the LoveCop album, along with an ’80s inspired workout video. “This one is here to inform all the love-abiding citizens that you’re basically free to do whatever the fuck you want,” the band said. “If that’s not enough to make you wanna take off your clothes and dance, you are hereby charged with two counts of being a drag.
“LoveCop says you have the right to remain loud! You have the right to remain wicked. So put your hands behind your head… and dance!”
LoveCop is the band’s fifth studio album. Produced by Adam Grahn and Michael Ilbert at the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin, it will be available from 7 June 7 2024 via Odyssey Music. Pre-orders are available from ffm.to/rr-lovecop.
