LOU GRAMM Discusses His Decision To Stop Performing This Year, Says He Has A New Album On The Way - "I Would Like To Turn My Attention To My Family And My Muscle Cars"; Video

In a new interview with Lee Richey, original Foreigner vocalist, Lou Gramm, discusses his decision to put an end to his performing career this year.

Says Lou: "This is my last year, I've announced that already. I've been doing it, jeez, for almost 50 years, and I would like to turn my attention to my family, and my muscle cars, and just enjoy myself, knowing that when I lay down at night, it'll be in my own bed."

Elsewhere in the interview, Lou reveals that he has a new studio album set for release at the end of year. "It's song ideas and bits and pieces from my recording of my first album, second album and Shadow King. Now, what I mean is, when you put an album out and you have 10 songs, you might record 13 and pick the best 10. So then you've got three songs that you don't know what to do with, and they sit there, and the years go by. Or maybe they're not complete songs, maybe you have 10 songs on your album and there's a couple songs that you started and once the album was released, you just forgot about them. So when I was looking to put out a new album, I had freshly written songs too, but I just started going through the tapes in my tape closet and listening to these things that were 25, 30 years old, and the ideas were awesome. So I started them that long ago and I finished them about two years ago."

Foreigner, Ozzy Osbourne, and Jane's Addiction are among the nominees for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2024.

Lou Gramm took to social media to share his thanks for the nomination, writing, "I wanted to share my gratitude to the Rock Hall of Fame for this nomination, Mick Jones and I have waited a long time for this. Thank you to my friends in the entertainment industry and fans alike for their generous support in voting for us, keeping Foreigner in the Top 3 since voting commenced. You have been the reason #Foreigner has had so many multi-platinum albums, Billboard Hot 100 hits and is the most played classic rock band on radio. Thank you for the videos Mark Robson Slash, Jack Black, Josh Homme, Chad Smith and Dave Grohl and my buddy Bret Michaels, that I am on tour with this summer."
