Lzzy Hale recently opened up about her ‘crush’ on Cinderella’s Tom Keifer and how the band’s music affected her career while speaking with Classic Rock Magazine.
Halestorm frontwoman was listing her ’80s mixtape’ when she named Cinderella’s ‘Push Push’ [1986] as the first pick of her list. She then discussed how her parents had introduced her to the band, and said:
“What boy bands were to my friends in the nineties, Cinderella was my version of it; like, I was gonna marry Tom Keifer… I probably would have never picked up a guitar or sang the way I do without Tom and Cinderella. And ‘Push Push’ was a little sexual to me, as a teenager.”
She then explained how the band’s music had affected Halestorm and her career as a stage performer:
“When Halestorm started we had this old conversion van with a tiny television that could only play VHS tapes, and one was the video collection for ‘Night Songs.’ It was one of the first times I really studied how people do live shows.”
