Metal Hammer recently asked long-time artists, including Soulfly’s Max Cavalera and Mammoth WVH’s Wolfgang Van Halen, about their favorite new-generation metal bands. Upon the magazine’s question, Ghost’s Tobias Forge revealed:

“Crypta blow my mind. They’re a cool combination of death metal and black metal, but still super-decipherable, where you can sing everything she [Fernanda Lira] sings. They’re fantastic, and I wish them the very best.”

Ex-Nervosa members Fernanda Lira and Luana Dametto formed Crypta with Sonia Anubis and Tainá Bergamaschi in 2019. The band released its debut album, ‘Echoes Of The Soul,’ two years later.

By August 4, the group’s second record, ‘Shades Of Sorrow,’ came out after the release of three singles: ‘Lord Of Ruins,’ ‘Trial Of Traitors,’ and ‘The Other Side Of Anger.’

As the new album entered the charts in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, Crypta announced a supporting tour for it. With Jéssica di Falchi as its new guitarist, the band is set to start touring America in November, with dates stretching to early 2024.
