In 2003, The Darkness erupted onto the music scene, capturing hearts with their infectious hit single "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" and their chart-topping album Permission To Land. But fame can be fickle, and in 2006, the band mysteriously vanished from the music scene, leaving fans wondering what happened to their beloved rockers.

Enter acclaimed director and celebrity photographer Simon Emmett, the man behind Welcome To The Darkness. Nine long years after their disappearance, he decided to follow The Darkness on their comeback journey. What he captured was simply a band determined to recapture their glory days, starting from the smallest venues and dreaming of arenas once again.

Now, twenty years after their debut, The Darkness opens up like never before in a warts-and-all feature-length documentary, which is coming to cinemas on November 9 for one night only, plus encores. Check out the first-look clip from the documentary below.

Justin Hawkins, Dan Hawkins, Frankie Poullain, and Rufus Taylor share their story, their struggles, and their triumphs in their own words. "Welcome To The Darkness" is a rollercoaster ride through fame, failure, friendship, and redemption, offering unprecedented access, unseen footage, and intimate interviews that span six years.

Before the documentary's release, a very special expanded edition of Permission To Land is set to drop on October 6, arriving in various formats, including a five-LP package, a four-CD+DVD package, a double-CD package, and digital streaming platforms.

The Darkness is also hitting the road across the US as part of the 20th anniversary tour in support of Permission To Land. Get your tickets here.
