A few days ago, Thy Art Is Murder released their new studio album ‘Godlike’ with the announcement of replacing their frontman, CJ McMahon, and recently, the band dropped a new music video in support of their newly released album.
‘The Destroyer of Dreams’ music video dropped on September 30, with Tyler Miller appearing. The Aversions Crown frontman first appeared with the band during their show on September 27.
Although there is no specified reason for McMahon’s firing, the incident occurred a month after the former frontman’s transphobic comments on social media. As a result of the backlash he received after his comment, McMahon decided to delete his social media accounts, after which Thy Art Is Murder shared a transgender flag on Instagram with the following description:
“Setting the record straight, we stand with you.”
Even though McMahon apologized days after his comment, which he later revealed he was forced to do, it still led him to get fired from the band, with the band claiming that his comments ‘was not the cause of this action, but just another symptom of the drawn out breakdown in his character and judgement.’
Thy Art Is Murder is currently on tour with Whitechapel, Fit For An Autopsy, and Spite with their new frontman.
