Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti recently appeared in a video as part of Premier Guitar’s Rig Rundown series to discuss the guitars he played over the years. The guitarist opened up about the time he refused to play Lady Gaga’s ‘pink guitar.’ He recalled:

“Paul [Reed Smith] and Rich tried to give me this guitar that they made for Lady Gaga. It was a pink guitar that shot out in all four directions and the case was as big as that drum riser.”

Mark shared how he refused the PRS offer by adding:

“I was like ‘I don’t want that guitar. I’m not going to take it.’ [They said] ‘Here, take it Mark, just play it a couple times.’ I’m not going to play it live.”

The guitarist is a well versed guitarist but it turns out that he is also quite the crooner. Last year he released a covers album called ‘Mark Tremonti Sings Frank Sinatra,’ which he not only received acclaim for but was also inspired by his daughter’s Down Syndrome diagnosis.

Now the rocker is set to release a collection of holiday and Christmas tracks titled ‘Christmas Classics New & Old’ on October 27th. The guitarist recently released the opening track from his Christmas album, a cover of ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year’. You can give the track a listen below.
