Korn fans have a reason to rejoice, as guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch recently shared some details about the band’s future plans in a recent episode of Joe Rogan’s podcast, ‘The Joe Kingdom Perspective.’
This news comes not too long after the release of their last studio album, ‘Requiem,’ which hit the shelves in February 2022. Shortly after its release, Jonathan Davis hinted that they were already in the initial phases of working on a follow-up. In the interview with Rogan, Welch also confirmed:
“Yeah, new music coming out next year. I don’t know, we’re just kind of in hiding right now, just doing our own thing.”
Welch continued by noting the various changes the band has experienced. Without delving deep, he said:
“It’s just crazy how the lord just restored everything. A couple of members are on break too, and I took… or, one’s out of the band, but one’s on break. And it’s just, it’s all good. I mean, I was gone almost a decade, and I came back. I’ve been back a decade, so you just never know what’s gonna happen.”
While details regarding the upcoming album remain unknown, this will be Korn’s 15th record. Welch also mentioned some events for the 30th anniversary of the band, set for next year.
In addition to the new music, Korn is set to launch a collaboration with Adidas in the coming month. The band is also preparing for a performance at Sacramento’s Aftershock Festival on October 7, 2023.
