Thy Art Is Murder frontman CJ McMahon has found himself in a bit of hot water on social media. According to a report by MetalSucks, McMahon deleted his Instagram account after sharing anti-trans content and making several transphobic comments on the platform.

In a series of now-deleted posts, McMahon originally shared content framed as anti-trans commentary posted by far-right personality Matt Walsh. In Walsh's post, a woman asks her child if they're a boy or a girl, to which the kid replies "both." McMahon wrote in a caption that the woman asking the child in the video "should be burned to death," which was then reported and taken down apparently for being threatening.

Upon the post being taken down, McMahon stated he was "going off social media for good" thanks for the blowback and would only be promoting Thy Art Is Murder on the band's social media. McMahon clarified he would not be responding to personal messages or posting anything outside the band's business. McMahon also possibly jokingly said he'd open a "non-nude, non-sexual OnlyFans" to post his content, but y'know – isn't that what Patreon and newsletters are for?

Thy Art Is Murder has a new record called Godlike due out September 15. No word on how this situation will affect the band or their future plans, if at all.
