CREED To Announce Something Next Week

The inevitable has happened – Creed is clearly teasing some sort of reunion announcement for July 19. All we know so far is that the band's website has been updated to say they're taking things "back to the summer of '99" alongside a signup for an email list. Check that out here and get stoked? Or annoyed that Creed is coming back. Whatever your thing is.

Guitarist Mark Tremonti said in a 2023 interview with Cameron Buchholtz of Rock 100.5 The KATT that the band is always getting calls about a reunion, but couldn't ever do it.

"There's always people talking," said Tremonti. "We always get calls from people that are interested in putting a show together. But it's tough to get a band that hasn't toured in 10 years to just do a show. We would have to put it all together. We would have to put weeks into preparing the production and weeks into doing the rehearsals. And it's a big production. You can't just do one show."

Tremonti also said that, "It's just a matter of timing for everybody. Everybody's juggling so many projects, we would just have to find a window where it made sense."

Time seemed to be the biggest roadblock to getting Creed back on the road for a while now. Tremonti, alongside his former Creed bandmates drummer Scott Phillips and bassist Brian Marshall, are currently together in Alter Bridge, while vocalist Scott Stapp currently has his own solo project. Creed was initially active between 1994 and 2004, and then again for a reunion period between 2009 and 2012.

When asked about a reunion in the spring of 2022, Tremonti said "You never know. It's just one of those things where whenever it comes up, either our camp or Scott has something going on at the moment. So our stars have to align. In fact, right now if a promoter said, 'Hey, we wanna do a huge Creed tour,' I'd have to bypass all the stuff we're working on at the moment. So we just have to wait till the time is right."
