METALLICA – Fan-Filmed Video Of LARS ULRICH Drumming “Sad But True”, “Nothing Else Matters” In Amsterdam Streaming

Metallica kicked off their M72 World Tour 2023-2024 with two nights at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam, Netherlands and fan-filmed drum-cam footage of Lars Ulrich performing classics “Sad But True” and “Nothing Else Matters” is available below.

The two spectacular performances came with support from Architects & Mammoth WVH on Night 1 and Floor Jansen & Ice Nine Kills on Night 2.

The career-spanning sets performed in a bold new in-the-round stage design featured the live debut of “If Darkness Had A Son” and “You Must Burn!” along with songs off their newest album 72 Seasons including “Screaming Suicide”, “Sleepwalk My Life Away” and the title track “72 Seasons”. In total, the band performed 32 different songs taken from 11 albums.

A gallery, featuring photos from both nights by legendary lensman Ross Halfin, can be found here.

Presented worldwide by Liquid Death and Blackened American Whiskey (in North America only) and promoted by Live Nation, Metallica’s M72 world tour sees the band in a complete 360 performance playing two nights in every city it visits - with each No Repeat Weekend featuring two completely different setlists and support lineups. Up next, Metallica’s M72 World Tour will be making its way to Paris, Hamburg, and Gothenburg before proceeding to North America.

Metallica's complete 2023 / 2024 tour schedule can be found here.

Fans can also now access the M72 World Tour Interactive Map and discover pop-up shops, film screenings, Q&A sessions and everything Metallica happening in each stop on the tour, here.

A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to the band’s All Within My Hands foundation. Founded in 2017, AWMH’s efforts to assist and enrich the lives of members of the communities who have supported the band have raised nearly $13 million – providing $5.9 million in grants to career and technical education programs in the US, over $2.5 million to combat food insecurity, and more than $3.2 million to disaster relief efforts worldwide.

Metallica’s new album, 72 Seasons, was released on April 14 via the band’s own Blackened Recordings. Produced by Greg Fidelman with frontman James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, and clocking in at over 77 minutes, the 12-track 72 Seasons is Metallica’s first full length collection of new material since 2016’s Hardwired…To Self-Destruct.
