It can be said that Dream Theater and Indonesia love each other. August 2022 saw Dream Theater’s last visit to Indonesia, and now, just nine months later, they will be back for another Top Of The World concert in May 2023.
The last Dream Theater concert took place in the courtyard of the Manahan Stadium, Solo, organized by Rajawali Indonesia. It was a success, and the band enchanted around 9,000 fans packed in the venue.
“We just love to play our instruments,” John Petrucci said. “That never goes away. I love to be creative, write, and exercise that part of my mind. We’ve been able to do this for a long time, and we don’t take it for granted. Whenever we get together, we know we can’t disappoint ourselves or our fans, so we manage to try even harder.”
James LaBrie, John Petrucci, Jordan Rudess, John Myung and Mike Mangini return on their Top Of The World Tour. The Indonesia show, to be held in Jakarta on 12 May 2023 at Ecopark Ancol, is the Last Stop on the currently announced world tour dates. Once again, the promoter is Rajawali Indonesia, led by Anas Alimi.
Including the May show, Rajawali Indonesia has brought Dream Theater to Indonesia three times, previously in 2017 and 2022. Previous Indonesia shows were also in 2012 and 2014, and this can be considered proof that Dream Theater loves Indonesia.
Tickets are on sale now at https://dreamtheaterjakarta.com. The venue will be divided into two sections, Festival A and Festival B – See the poster below.
Dream Theater fans in Indonesia can’t wait to see their favourite band again.
