Its been 20 years since The Darkness released their multi-platinum chart-topping debut album, Permission To Land and to celebrate this momentous occasion, the band will embark on a global tour later this year. European dates have just been announced, which you can see below.
“When Permission to Land landed twenty short years ago, we were bathed in shock and awe,” Justin Hawkins said. “As if by magic, rock wasn’t dead! Fun wasn’t banned, and Spandex was almost acceptable again.
“Well, guess what? Twenty years on, the same rules apply. So please squeeze yourselves into those inappropriate leggings, back-comb your mullet, splash on a big handful of attitude, and come celebrate with us! We promise everything, and we deliver every time. Bring on the next twenty!
“The Darkness. The best. For you. Forever.”
As well as playing all eleven songs on Permission To Land, the band will play hits and fan favourites from their other six albums. Tickets are on sale from 24 March 2023. Visit https://www.thedarknesslive.com/tour-dates/ for more information.
The Darkness also promise a very special expanded Permission To Land deluxe album release coming later this year via Warner Music, with further details to be revealed soon.
