GODFLESH Announces First New Album In Six Years Purge

Godflesh is back with their first new album in six years titled Purge, due out June 9. The first single "Nero" will be available on April 3 alongside three self-remixes. So yes, Godflesh is back and everyone who needs more pummeling industrial metal in their lives should be losing their minds right now.

Godflesh states that Purge "revisits and updates the concepts" of their 1992 album Pure, while the album title itself is a reference to how Godflesh mastermind Justin K. Broadrick uses his music to tell his own story.

"The title alone – Purge – references directly how songwriter and creator Justin K. Broadrick utilises Godflesh's music as a temporary relief from his diagnosed autism and PTSD," reads a portion of the announcement. "It's the next stage in a journey he has been on since he began creating music, feeling alone and like an outsider in any scene or group, from childhood through to adulthood."
