LINKIN PARK Made Their Whole Website A Puzzle

Last week we reported a countdown on Linkin Park's website that seemed to hint at a 20th anniversary reissue of Meteora. Now the clock has run down to zero and Linkin Park's website has been replaced by a puzzle. As far as the stuff you can click and examine, this is what we know so far:

  • Clicking on the computer brings up an old-school PC that says it's "entered safe mode." There's a sticky note on the bottom that says "Get The Pass-Key" and "Call M," neither of which seem possible at the moment.
  • There's a CD copy of Meteora with a stick note that says "LurpleGame.com," which takes you to a Wordle style game. We'll let you figure that one out.
  • There's a DVD with the Meteora person on it that reads "Digitzation Department. 2003 Documentary Footage (WIP). Confidential – Do Not Copy" with a stick note on it that says "Work In Progress."
  • A photo of the late Chester Bennington.
  • A tape recorder that when clicked says "There’s no tape in the recorder. It seems to need a mini tape…"

Fans on Reddit seem to think that more solutions and items will become available over time, and they're probably right. After solving the Lurple Game, there's really nothing else to do aside from examine the items around the room. At least that's the story so far.

Given Linkin Park did a massive reissue for the 20th anniversary of Hybrid Theory, it seems pretty safe to assume this will be something similar. And based on fan theories, it seems like whatever they're teasing will be announced this Friday.

Linkin Park's Meteora has sold roughly 16 million copies around the world, and is one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century alongside their nü-metal contemporaries Evanescence. Meteora also spawned Linkin Park's second biggest hit behind "Numb," which is right behind their classic "In The End."
