When released in October of 1993 on Roadrunner Records, River Runs Red became an instant underground classic. It follows the story of a troubled youth dealing with depression and ultimately takes his own life at the end of the LP. Or, so we thought. In 2019, Life of Agony released The Sound of Scars, a sequel to River Runs Red that reveals that the young man actually survived his suicide attempt, and the album details now his struggles through adulthood.
