ONWARD Guitarist TOBY KNAPP On New Album - "The Listeners Who Weren't On Board With This Album Were Pretty Easily Replaced With New Fans"

Guitarist Toby Knapp has checked in with Onward and solo album updates. Onward have begun work on the follow up to the recently released Of Epoch And Inferno.

Knapp: "Now that the Onward album has been released and heard, I can say I'm happy with the outcome. The listeners who weren't on board with this album were pretty easily replaced with new fans. I'm happy we've gained audience with a heavier crowd. Not too heavy, but I feel we fit in that pre- thrash metal sound when bands like Slayer, Anthrax, Metallica, Overkill, Flotsam  And Jetsam, etc. were releasing their debut albums, and it was a mixture of speed metal and traditional heavy metal. I like (new vocalist) Robert Van War's vocals and am excited and re-energized because of this whole new direction and newfound support".

Knapp's ninth solo album, Transmission To Purgatory is also in the works.

Knapp: "This album is very difficult. I want perfect rhythm guitar tracks and these are difficult to multi-layer because of all the nuances and frequent changes during a song. It's just a matter of me being satisfied with my work and then it'll be released. It's basically done."

Both albums are scheduled to be released in 2023.

The track "Silhouette" has been released as a single from Of Epoch And Inferno. Check it out below.

Moribund Records recently signed Onward to a two album deal and renewed Knapp's contract as a solo artist.
