Davide Lo Surdo, who Rolling Stone magazine and GuitarraMX declared The Fastest Guitarist in History for his ability to play 129 notes in 1 second, will release his new song, Full Emersion, on 4 December 2022.
To achieve this record, Davide’s technique was to play a sequence of five different arpeggios based on the first three strings of the instrument (E–B–G) using the sweep-picking technique. Davide says that alternate picking, flat picking, the correct fingering position and the use of the metronome were important skills to master.
Lo Surdo often repeats his record-breaking showmanship during gigs when he plays seated in a classical guitarist position during the Deep Purple song Burn.
Davide was born in Rome, Italy, in July 1999 and started playing the guitar at the age of nine, inspired by his neighbour.
Davide played the 15th anniversary of Rolling Stone Magazine held at Sambódromo do Anhembi in November 2021 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and has also played with Jeff Loomis, Steve Vai, Mike Stern, Angel Vivaldi, Joel Hoekstra, Doogie White, Mark Boals, Edu Falaschi, and Neil Zaza.
