JUDAS PRIEST Guitarist RICHIE FAULKNER On Performing At Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction - "I Didn't Need To Be There, But The Guys Thought It Was Important I Was There Representing The Band In 2022"

The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame announced the 2022 class of inductees earlier this year, among them UK metal gods Judas Priest, who received the "Musical Excellence" award at the November 5th event. Former members K.K. Downing (guitar) and Les Binks (drums) joined vocalist Rob Halford, guitarist Glenn Tipton, bassist Ian Hill, drummer Scott Travis, and Downing's replacement Richie Faulkner for a medley of "You've Got Another Thing Comin'", "Breaking The Law" and "Living After Midnight".

Robert Cavuoto at Metal Rules recently caught up with Faulkner, who discussed the performance that he has previously described as "surreal", and spoke about the band's forthcoming studio album. Check out the interview below.

On the induction ceremony performance

Faulkner: "I was just happy to be there to support the rest of the guys. I offered to opt out, I didn't need to be there, (but) the guys wanted me to be there as part of the band even though I wasn't inducted, so to speak. They thought it was important I was there representing the band in 2022, so that was really nice of them. It was a great night."

Faulkner shared a message on Instagram following the induction ceremony:

"One life, I’m gonna live it up!! What a night! I’m sure it was a flood of emotions for everybody involved and for all the fans, but to be up there with both GT and KK as part of a guitar TRIO with Judas Priest was an experience I’ll never forget. A huge congrats to all the guys and to all the amazing artists who got inducted last night. It was truly surreal to be there."
