OZZY OSBOURNE Wants To Stay In America, SHARON OSBOURNE Not So Much

Ozzy Osbourne seems to have a pretty complication relationship with America these days. Ozzy and Sharon announced earlier this year they'd be leaving their longtime home of Los Angeles and moving back to England, which at the time Ozzy said was due to the couple's fear of their own safety.

“Everything’s fucking ridiculous there. I’m fed up with people getting killed every day," Osbourne said in an August interview. "God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert… It's fucking crazy.

"And I don't want to die in America. I don't want to be buried in fucking Forest Lawn. I'm English. I want to be back. But saying that, if my wife said we've got to go and live in Timbuktu, I'll go. But, no, it's just time for me to come home."

Though in a new interview with Consequence, Ozzy seems to have changed his tune a bit. On the topic of relocating, he said "To be honest with you, if I had my way, I’d stay in America. I'm American now… to be honest with you, I don't want to go back. Fuck that."

Sharon, however, paints a different picture similar to Ozzy's comments from a few months ago. "When I first came here, I thought I was in heaven. In the '70s, if you loved music, this was the place to be. It's not that hub anymore. It's not exciting anymore. It hasn't gone sideways, it's gone down. It's not a fun place to live. It's dangerous here. Every big city's got crime, but I don't feel safe here. Neither does Ozzy." It's also worth noting that the couple have previously cited rising taxes as the reason for the move.

Interestingly, the Consequence article also points out that the couple's decision to move to also motivated by Sharon's parting of ways with CBS' The Talk. Her departure stemmed form an on-air disagreement with co-host Sheryl Underwood after Sharon defended Piers Morgan's comments about Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex. At the time, CBS simply stated that "Sharon's behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace." In the Consequence interview, Ozzy said the situation "broke her heart" and that "Sharon was set up and it was wrong. It was really wrong."

Whether he's living in America or England, Ozzy will be one of the handful of performers alongside from Motörhead (we're still not clear on that), Megadeth, Black Label Society, Skid Row, The Raven Age, and Britof at the metaverse OzzFest 2022 show happening later this week.
