Suzi Quatro. Royal Albert Hall - 20 April 2022.

The trailblazing Queen of rock ‘n’ roll, Suzi Quatro, has released the six-song EP Uncovered. Recorded under the Tennessee-based legendary independent record label, Sun Records, Uncovered features six versions of ’60s/’70s rock ‘n’ roll and soul classics, all sparkled with that unique Quatro magic.

Two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning guitarist and songwriter Steve Cropper (Booker T. & The MGs, Sam and Dave, Otis Redding, The Blues Brothers) features on two iconic tracks he co-wrote: Wilson Pickett’s Midnight Hour and Otis Redding’s Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay.

“Since I first picked up a bass guitar and started playing and singing in my first band in 1964,” Suzi says, “many artists helped show the way. I honour them here with this eclectic choice of songs. Every one of them is here for a reason. Thank you all for your inspiration.”

Suzi’s version of the Creedence Clearwater Revival classic, Bad Moon Rising, has been released as a single. Completing the impressive track list are versions of Carole King’s I Feel The Earth Move, James Brown’s The Boss, and the Rufus Thomas classic Walking The Dog.

Suzi played a show at The Royal Albert Hall in April 2022. “We all came away from the Albert Hall having been thoroughly entertained,” MetalTalk said of the evening. “But also with a much greater insight into the life and history of one amazing musician, who has transformed so much about music without many of us even realising it.”

Suzi released her album The Devil In Me in March 2021. In a wide-ranging interview, MetalTalk talked about the time she gave Alice Cooper a black eye and wondered if his other eye was safe and were they still mates?

“We are still friends,” Suzi said. “We were on the Welcome To My Nightmare tour, and we had a dart gun fight in a hotel, which spilt out into the hotel corridor. Alice hid behind a TV and peeked out. I went bang, and he thought ouch, good shot. Afterwards, he wore my t-shirt onstage out of respect, and we are still friends [laughs].”
