VEDIC Welcomes Bassist BILL MEZ To The Fold

Philadelphia-based metal heavyweights, Vedic, would like to make a very special announcement and officially welcome bassist Bill Mez (Single Bullet Theory, Seven Witches) to the fold.

Guitarist Matt DiFabio states: “Mez and I have a long history of playing together. We were essentially the founding members of Single Bullet Theory (Crash Music , Goomba) and spent several months together out on the road during those years, touring and managing the band from 2000 to 2008 and again in 2016 to 2018. When SBT’s drummer (Rob Gladden, RIP) was diagnosed with cancer in 2018, we put the band on indefinite hiatus. Mez then decided that he was going to hang up his skates. Now four years later, we are happy to welcome him to Vedic.”

This does not come as much of a surprise however... Years ago, Vedic was founded under the working name Cipher (originally founded in the mid-nineties and featuring current Vedic drummer Joey Eck and Guitarist Matt DiFabio). When Cipher was reformed in 2016 and began to play shows, the band included original bassist Bill Cornett. When Cornett required surgery on his wrist Mez stepped in to play the first couple of shows. In addition Mez tracked the bass in 2017 for Cipher’s first recording since their early days. He has always been part of the family.

Mez states: “After rejoining SBT in 2016 and then sadly watching the deterioration of our dear friend and drummer Rob, I didn’t want to continue the band without him, and Matt agreed. Cipher had already been reformed and I didn’t want to disturb the good thing they had going, so I took another break from music. When Vedic recently found themselves legitimately void of a bass player, I felt it was the proper time to grab hold of the opportunity. I love the music that Vedic is writing and it fits me perfectly. I look forward to hitting the stage again.”

Mez will make his live debut on October 22, when Vedic takes the stage at Bar XIII in Claymont, Delaware. In addition, Mez will make his video debut for a brand-new track entitled “Mercy Killing”, which will be released in the coming months on all digital platforms. Mez will also be making his recording debut on a brand-new track entitled “Gag Order”, also set to be released in the coming months.
