Skid Row’s guitarist Dave Sabo recently sat down for an interview with Louder Sound and answered the questions about their new lineup and the audition process, implying Sebastian Bach’s comeback to the band was never on the table.

Sebastian Bach was with Skid Row in its early years, and his voice was featured on the band’s first three albums. However, the band decided to part ways with Bach in 1996. Tensions between band members had increased at that time because Bach had booked their band as the opening act at the KISS reunion without asking his fellow bandmates.

Apparently, the other bandmates thought Skid Row could not be the opening act of any other band because they were already a band that had come of age, and the controversy escalated. Ultimately, Bach ended up leaving the band. It is known that Bach insulted Sabo while departing, which eventually led Sabo never to want to cooperate with him again.

After the incident, they changed many vocalists and most recently settled with Erik Grönwall. Grönwall, previously a member of the Swedish hard rock band H.E.A.T., will be singing for the band and will be featured on ‘The Gang’s All Here,’ the upcoming album of Skid Row.

In a recent interview with Louder Sound, Skid Row guitarist Dave Sabo received a question about the audition process that ended with Erik Grönwall joining the band. He was asked if Sebastian Bach’s rejoining was an option on the table while the band members were looking for their new frontman.

The guitarist firmly answered no. Snake has stated that they are pretty determined about the situation they are in now. He also said that the band has no intention of looking back, just wanting to move forward, and that could be with Erik or anyone else. He also implied that what happened with Bach was long gone and explained that the band members were only concerned about looking ahead.

Here is Sabo’s statement about his former bandmate Sebastian Bach:

“No. And you’re not the first person to ask that. But he wasn’t even a part of our thought process. For quite a long time we’ve been beyond that.

We’re really steadfast that this is where we’re at. We’re more focused on moving forward with Erik – or it might have been someone else – than looking back.”

The tensions between Bach and Sabo do not seem to have subsided, even after more than 20 years. With the reaming members, Skid Row is gearing up to release their new album, and they have already released three singles: ‘The Gang’s All Here,’ ‘Tear It Down,’ and ‘Time Bomb,’ respectively. The complete album will arrive on October 14.
