Tesseract is all done with the follow-up to their 2018 album Sonder and will release it sometime in 2023. In an interview with Sophie K of Knotfest, Tesseract guitarist James Monteith said the band recently got the completed album back and is hoping to have it out sometime hopefully in the middle of 2023. When asked about how the new record sounds, Monteith revealed it'll much more "organic" than previous efforts.

"All of the previous Tesseract record really have been done in very much a bedroom-ey, very sort of digital style, whereas this has been done like a traditional rock record [in a studio]," said Monteith. "I feel like it might be a real step in a fresh direction for Tesseract while still being true to the sound that we try to make."

In the meantime, Tesseract has been playing a super heavy new song called "Natural Disaster" live. You can check out a pretty solid recording of it from the ArcTenGent festival 2022 below.

In February, Tesseract released the Regrowth EP, featuring the two singles "Hollow" and "Rebirth," to benefit Ukraine. The proceeds are set to be donated to the Regrowth Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) as they continue to aid those in Ukraine.

"These songs have been in the Tesseract domain for a while," said the band via statement. "We had developed them for album 5, but they just weren't the right fit for where that album has headed. Rather than have them slowly decay on a server somewhere, we felt they could do something good, no matter how small? Many organisations are doing good at the moment. Médecin Sans Frontières, Amnesty International, and World United. We chose to help The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) in their drive to aid those in Ukraine affected by the invasion by Russia, and warzones around the world. Our last headline tour visited Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Lviv. We have travelled the roads currently under attack, but cannot begin to imagine the change they have undergone."

Regrowth is available for purchase here.
