Mötley Crue bassist and songwriter Nikki Sixx shared a post on his official Instagram account to share his new obsession, Starcrawler, thanks to a friend’s recommendation.
The fresh rock band Starcrawler is what some would say is the new kid on the block. The band hasn’t been around that long since they only released their self-titled debut album in 2018 and followed it up the next year with ‘Devour You.’ The band had the opportunity to open for My Chemical Romance across their UK tour and played alongside Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds at their huge All Points East show in London this past summer.
Their presence in the rock scene didn’t go unnoticed for too long since they managed to catch the eyes of a major record company and have recently released their third studio album ‘She Said‘ on September 16. Even though they are considerably new to the rock and roll scene, they have captured the attention of many prominent artists, including Nikki Sixx.
Nikki Sixx took to Instagram to share his current obsession with Starcrawler, who were recommended by his friend Suzy Cole. He praised the band for not having an overly produced sound with an overpowering use of pro tools, which would end up sounding like a fake metal band trying to dominate active rock. Sixx described the band as having the guts to make their unique sound that has sarcasm and style. He described himself as a fan and encouraged his fans to check out Starcrawler and give an ear to their new album.
Nikki Sixx’s IG post read:
“My friend Suzy Cole turned me onto Starcrawler, and I’m f*cking hooked. Thank god it’s not another over-produced pro-tooled-to-death fake metal band dominating active rock. Fresh blood guts and rock and roll dripping with sarcasm and style. New fan. Check them out!”
