The wait to find out who the new Fear Factory vocalist is will finally end in February 2023. Guitarist Dino Cazares said in an interview with The Jasta Show that he'll reveal the new singer's identity via a new single right before Fear Factory hits the road with Static-X next year. This was the original plan for 2022 before the tour got postponed to 2023, and it seems Cazares is sticking to it for the rescheduled dates.

"It's just a lot of development, man. Fear Factory is precious to a lot of people and I'm gonna make sure [the announcement is done] right," said Cazares as transcribed by Metal Injection. "I wanted to release some tracks a while ago with the singer, but then I had [no touring] behind it. So the hype was going to die down quick.

"I wanted to do it around the tour so that way you got something to work, and I just didn't want to release his name too quick because then… no one is gonna care by the time I release a track a year later. I want it all to be done together."

When asked who the number one vocalist is that Cazares would recruit without question, he responded with a very solid choice – Mike Patton of Faith No More and Mr. Bungle.

"The number one guy would be Mike Patton. If Mike Patton said 'hey, I'm singing for you guys,' [I'd say] 'okay.' There's no hesitation at all, whatsoever. He's one of those guys that can do it all, and you know it's gonna be exciting, charismatic – you know it's gonna be interesting every night."

Cazares later brought up vocalist John Bush (ex-Anthrax, Armored Saint) as another potential choice. "Of course I would take John Bush. Hell yeah. I'm sure he can do a lot more than he does in some of his other bands. I think it would be very fun and interesting to do stuff, yeah."
