The Lives Of Brian, the autobiography of legendary AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson, is set for release on 25 October through Penguin Michael Joseph Publishing.
“I’ve had some long nights and some great nights, bad days and a lot of good ones,” Johnson says. “I’ve gone from choirboy to rock ‘n’ roll singer, and now I’ve gone and written a bloody book about it.”
The book follows Johnson from his early days as the son of a British army sergeant-major and an Italian mother to his years in the band Geordie. Despite TV appearances and tours with Geordie, Brian had to take several jobs, eventually running his own business.
Invited to audition for AC/DC after the tragic death of Bon Scott, Brian tells the story of recording Back In Black, and touring stadiums for decades, before hearing loss forced him to leave the band in 2016.
“It wasn’t me. I didn’t do it. And I’ll never do it again,” Brian says.
Touching, personal, but always funny, The Lives Of Brian is the story of one of Heavy Metal’s most recognisable and well-loved voices.
