In a recent interview with ‘The Chuck Shute Podcast,’ Sixx:A.M. vocalist James Michael revealed that the band was on an indefinite break.

The legendary bassist Nikki Sixx is currently on tour with Mötley Crüe, performing all across the United States and Canada. Sixx has been active on the music scene since 1981 and has worked on many side projects during his well-established career. One of these side projects was the hard rock band, Sixx:A.M.

Formed in 2007, Sixx:A.M. had commercial success early on with their debut 2007 album, ‘The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack,’ which accompanied Sixx’s autobiography of the same name. The band quickly gained recognition after their initial success and released five studio albums together.

The band has only released a compilation album, ‘Hits,’ in 2021, and with the reunion of Mötley Crüe in 2019, the future of Sixx:A.M. has been undecided. With the members currently working on different projects, many fans were left to wonder if there would be a comeback.

In a recent interview with ‘The Chuck Shute Podcast, the vocalist James Michael revealed that the band didn’t have any new projects for the foreseeable future. He explained that he was in touch with both Nikki Sixx and guitarist DJ Ashba and that they were all working on new creative projects either together or separately. He added that he wasn’t sure if Sixx:A.M. would release a new record any time soon but that he would love to work with his bandmates once again.

James Michael stated in the interview:

”We’re on hiatus. We don’t have any plans right now. I’m communicating quite regularly with both Nikki and DJ. And we all have some other creative projects that we are doing together or will do together. I don’t know if Sixx:A.M. will do another record. I think I would really love that if we did, and to be honest with you, I think probably Nikki and DJ feel the same.”

He added:

”So we’ll just have to see. It’s certainly not off the table. But it just depends on where we’re at in our lives and if we feel that it’s something to pursue.”
