Hurricane Nita Strauss has released her new single, Summer Storm, with an accompanying video shot on her recent US headline tour. The track finds Nita returning to her love of instrumental music.
“Instrumental music is where my heart is,” Nita says, “and Summer Storm might be the song I feel captures my personal style the most: cathartic, driving and emotional. While a lot of the upcoming record will have guest vocalists, I’m also so proud of the instrumental tracks and excited to officially unleash this one on the world.”
Summer Storm will be found on her second solo album, which she is working hard on when not touring with Demi Lovato, although we are yet to read release details. It follows on from the track Dead Inside, which was released almost one year ago. Dead Inside featured the vocal prowess of David Draiman.
“This is my first time releasing my own music with a vocalist,” Nita said, “and I am so honoured to take this step alongside a legend like David Draiman. David’s voice and powerful lyrics took this song to a level I could never have imagined.”
“Serendipity can be really cool,” Draiman said. “We’ve been friends for years. Nita sent me the track. I didn’t have time to work on it right away. Then in literally a couple of days, while killing time in Santa Monica, the whole thing just came together. I’m incredibly proud of how it turned out and honoured to be a part of it.”
Strauss’ new album will be the follow-up to her debut, Controlled Chaos, released in 2018.
