Stryper members shared a post on their official Facebook account to announce that they had no choice but to move their September tour dates to the following year.
A short time ago, the Christian metal band gave their fans good news, saying they would take the stage in September. This announcement and the new record made their fans happy and excited until they released a statement with a heavy heart on their social media account.
Their dates after September 27 have remained the same, but the concerts they were supposed to perform between September 8 and 25, 2022, will take place in the Spring and Summer of 2023. The Stryper members said they will reveal more details about the rescheduled concerts as soon as possible.
The main reasons behind their decision were financial problems such as renting a house or gas prices. Michael Sweet, Robert Sweet, Oz Fox, and Perry Richardson said they wanted to promote the upcoming album ‘The Final Battle,’ which will be available in October, with a proper tour.
An excerpt from the band’s statement read:
“It is with a heavy heart that we are postponing most of our September tour dates to the spring/summer of 2023. Refunds will be automatically issued. If you have purchased a meet and greet through Stryper’s Etix page, those will be refunded as well. New dates for next year are being rescheduled now.
We will be able to keep several of the 2022 tour dates as scheduled, including the Texas dates and the international and destination dates. (Details in the Tour section of Stryper’s official website).”
They added:
“Unfortunately, there were some economic cards stacked against us. Anyone in the music business will tell you about the tour bus and labor shortage. We’re feeling it first hand.
The tour bus business is like the housing market right now, with ten times more bands trying to rent buses than are available. You’ve seen the cost of gas lately. When you’re putting 10,000+ miles on a bus, as we were planning to do, gas prices matter for a tour like ours.“
