In a recent interview with Guitar World, Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine discussed how he ended up collaborating with Ice-T in their latest released song ‘Night Stalkers.’
Megadeth has gone through a few rough patches throughout their career. The band experienced a few scandals with their ex-member David Ellefson. However, it seems like the tides have settled, and Megadeth is on the rise again.
Their highly-anticipated new album ‘The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!‘ will be released on September 2, 2022. Before the album’s official release, Megadeth recently released the second track from the upcoming album, titled ‘Night Stalkers,’ featuring Ice-T alongside a music video for fans to enjoy.
During a new conversation, Dave Mustaine explained that he was an Army Ranger when he first met Ice-T. This intrigued Mustaine as he wanted to work with a musician who had a military background. Later, when Mustaine asked for a spoken part, Ice-T delivered him so many great ones that it was hard to decide on one.
Dave Mustaine’s words about his collaboration with Ice-T:
“I’ve been friends with Ice-T for a long time. When we first met in Los Angeles, he told me he was an Army Ranger, so it was only natural that I would get him to do this because I wanted to get a great musician who has cred as a military guy. I asked him if he would do a spoken part, and he gave me so many good ones it was hard to pick which one to use.”
