Anthrax took to their official Instagram to announce that two consecutive shows were canceled due to medical emergencies within the band.
The pandemic has affected everyone one way or another. The unfortunate repercussion for our favorite artists and bands was the cancellation of tours. After two years of not being on a stage, almost every night has shaken the performance level of musicians. Anthrax was one of those bands that had to reschedule everything.
They came back strong with several tour announcements, one being their ‘Fall 2022 European Tour,’ which will be their first time in Europe since 2019. The tour will begin in September. The other most anticipated tour was their 40th-anniversary tour. Although the ‘Anthrax 40th Anniversary Tour’ with Black Label Society and Hatebreed started on a high, the band had to cancel two shows due to medical concerns.
Recently, Anthrax posted an announcement on Instagram and shared the unfortunate news of the cancellation of two shows in a row, one in Dallas and one in Austin. The first show that was canceled happened to be the day of their 40th anniversary, and they had to cancel it due to medical concerns.
The band also announced that the Austin show was canceled due to similar medical reasons. Despite the cancellation of their shows, they have informed fans that Black Label Society and Hatebreed are still performing. They also thanked their fans for their support.
Anthrax’s IG posts read:
“We are sorry to inform you that Anthrax must cancel tonight’s show in Dallas due to a medical concern. Black Label Society and Hatebreed are still performing tonight; come and rock out with them! Refunds are available until the box office closes at (9 p.m.). We’ve waited so long to be able to celebrate our 40th anniversary, and are so disappointed that we won’t be able to do so tonight – frankly, it blows. Thank you for your support and understanding, and stay safe.”
They added:
“Charlie, Scott, Frank, Joey, and Jon are sorry to let their fans in Austin know that Anthrax has to cancel its show tonight at Stubbs Waller Creek Amphitheatre due to a medical concern. Black Label Society and Hatebreed are still performing tonight, so the band hopes you’ll come out and rock with them. Refunds are available until the venue box office closes at 9 p.m. or at the point of purchase. Everyone in the band looks forward to seeing their Austin fans soon!”
