In a video recently posted on the DragonForce YouTube channel, Herman Li shared his thoughts on Nita Strauss‘ decision to leave Alice Cooper and join Demi Lovato’s band, saying it was a big step forward.
Nita Strauss rose to fame after she became Alice Cooper’s guitarist. She replaced Orianthi in 2014 and started performing with Cooper, receiving positive reviews from longtime fans, critics, and the singer himself. Alongside her career in the band, Strauss has also worked on her very successful solo music journey, producing albums that hit the charts worldwide.
After a lauded run with Alice Cooper, the guitarist recently decided to leave the band and join Demi Lovato on her upcoming tour. The guitarist did not give an apparent reason why she chose to quit Cooper’s band. However, Strauss did explain that she was not pregnant and that there were no disagreements between her and her bandmates.
Recently, Herman Li said that Nita Strauss’ decision to leave Alice Cooper to play with Demi Lovato was an excellent move. He added that most people don’t understand this choice, but Li said Strauss has been with Cooper for eight years and has made a name for herself. The rocker noted that it is much more difficult for women in this industry and that it is a bold decision for her to try something new.
Li’s thoughts about Nita Strauss’ decision to leave the Alice Cooper band:
“I think this is a huge step forward for her, and she has got to prove it, and I think she’s going to prove it, and everyone will shut up later. But understand this also; she’s already proven herself. She’s been in the Alice Cooper band for eight years. And let’s be serious; it’s much tougher for women in this industry. Much more challenging, you’ve got to take that chance when you get it.
So, for all those people out there not understanding this, I’m giving it to you in as much as I know it; this music world is tough. And since you’ve done the Alice Cooper gig, everyone knows who you are. Now let’s go out there on new ground and see if you can inspire more people out there to play the guitar. I think it’s a daring move. Let’s see what happens.”
