In a post on a website named after the late Slipknot drummer, Joey Jordison‘s family commemorated the first anniversary of his passing.
Joey Jordison was diagnosed with acute transverse myelitis, resulting in the drummer’s temporary inability to use his legs. After a long and praised tenure with the band, Jordison left Slipknot in 2013 without much explanation.
Unfortunately, Jordison passed away on July 26, 2021, at 46. The drummer’s family released a statement announcing that he died peacefully in his sleep without specifying a cause of death. Hence, his fans don’t know why the musician passed away to this day.
The family of late Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison made a video to commemorate him on the first anniversary of his passing. The selected songs were Jordison’s favorites. His family revealed that the late musician requested Led Zeppelin’s ‘In My Time of Dying’ to be played at his funeral.
The family of the late Slipknot drummer’s touching message is as follows:
“The songs that accompany the photos in this video include some of Joey’s favorites. He referenced these songs in many of the interviews he gave over the course of his career when asked about the songs and artists that played a part in shaping him as a musician. One that hits hardest is Led Zeppelin’s, ‘In My Time of Dying,’ named by Joey as the song he wanted to be played at his funeral.”
