Glammy Finnish vampires The 69 Eyes are back again with a new dark summer single, the John Carpenter-inspired track, "Call Me Snake." The song will be featured on the band's upcoming limited edition vinyl EP, Drive. The EP comes as The 69 Eyes celebrate 12 studio albums to their credit so far and countless #1 chart positions in their homeland of Finland.
About "Call Me Snake," T69E vocalist Jyrki 69 had this to say: “It’s 1997 in John Carpenter’s Escape From New York sci-fi classic and Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken saves the world! These are the thematic elements for ‘Call Me Snake’ and the world will be saved again!” You can stream or download "Call Me Snake" here. Artwork for Drive, as well as its track listing can be found below. You can preorder the vinyl EP here.
Back in April, The 69 Eyes released the video for the title track to Drive in all of its campy, neo-Blade predatory glory. Fast cars, long leather jackets, and a crimson chanteuse reign supreme in this highly-stylized noir short that interchanges between our heroes on the run from a coven of vampires and the bloodsucking night sky of Downtown Los Angeles. The official video for "Drive" can be found below.
The 69 Eyes will play a handful festival dates this summer, and will support Ministry, along with Wednesday 13, on select dates this November and December in the UK and Europe. For the most up to date information on The 69 Eyes, please visit their site today!
