Vocalist Lars-Göran Petrov passed away in March 2021 after a battle with bile duct cancer. Petrov's impressive resume included a long discography with Entombed, and later Entombed A.D. after a legal split between members of the band and the use of the name. Entombed A.D. released three albums between 2014 and 2019, and according to guitarist Nico Elgstrand there might not be any more.

In an interview with Heavy Culture, Elgstrand said the band is still mourning the loss of Petrov and that there are no concrete plans to continue on at the moment. He adds that there could be some sort of tribute show eventually, but right now the band is simply the mourning the loss of their friend and vocalist.

"I've gotta say I, at least personally, am still grieving. It was a horrible blow, a terrible loss," said Elgstrand. "We speak pretty often, the rest of the guys in the band, but with the COVID and everything, everything came to a halt anyway. So we have been talking about maybe someday doing something, but it's nothing… I think we all still are hurting from the loss, so the vibe to continue doing anything at this point is not really there for the moment.

"I don't know if it's gonna happen in the future. People have been asking about all kinds of reunion or tributes or whatnot. And maybe in the future we'll do some kind of a tribute thing to him, but right now it's still really, really tough."

Petrov also fronted Firespawn, who last we heard was plotting a tribute EP to their fallen vocalist.
