Red Hot Chili Peppers took Twitter to tell their fans that they had to cancel the Glasgow show due to sickness. Flea also tweeted to apologize to their fans for the inconvenience.
The original members of RHCP attended the same high school where they formed a group called ‘What Is This?’ and started playing together as teenagers. After playing together for several years, they decided to continue as Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The group recently released their latest album ‘Unlimited Love.’ They were on their tour in the UK and Europe supporting the record. The gig in Glasgow would have been the band’s first performance in the city since 2016. They recently performed for crowds in Manchester, London, and Dublin.
RHCP shared a post on Twitter to inform fans of the Glasgow show’s cancellation due to an illness. They also asked their fans to hold their tickets while finding a solution. Flea also tweeted a response to a fan who traveled to watch them live. The bassist apologized for the disappointment and promised to return soon to honor their commitment.
The band’s announcement for the canceled show in Glasgow:
“Due to illness RHCP will not be able to perform in Glasgow tonight, July 1. We are working on ways to reschedule. Please hold onto your tickets and wait for an update soon. RHCP loves Scotland and is deeply disappointed not to be able to perform the show. Thank you for your understanding.”
Flea’s response to a fan who traveled for the canceled show:
“Jacob, I am so sorry for the inconvenience and the letdown. I promise we will come back, make up the show and play our hearts out with every fiber of our beings. Medical problems are a challenge sometimes in this life. We will honor our commitment.”
