Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider has announced his first graphic novel that will shine a light on the PMRC case and everything that happened that day from his perspective.

After Snider became the frontman and songwriter for Twisted Sister, the band released several studio albums that gained attraction. To accentuate the Twisted Sister image, Snider adopted a metal-inspired character with long blonde curly hair, eyeshadow, blush, a beauty mark, and bright red lipstick.

The attraction they gained alongside several other bands like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and AC/DC was under scrutiny. ‘The Parents Music Resource Center,’ also known as PMRC, built a case against mainstream rock and metal music for its negative impact on children and teenagers. Many rockers such as Snider, Frank Zappa, and John Denver have tried to combat the allegations against them and the censorship of their art.

Snider is now taking back control by telling his side of the story through the graphic novel, ‘Dee Snider: HE’S NOT GOING TO TAKE IT.’ The comic’s title refers to allegations that the music video for the Twisted Sister song ‘We’re Not Gonna It’ promotes violence. The rocker also stated that this novel is from his story and does not include Zappa or anyone else who was there that day.

About his new comics, Dee Snider said the following:

“ATTENTION: Z2 Comics and I have teamed up to bring you my 1st graphic novel, ‘Dee Snider: HE’S NOT GOING TO TAKE IT.’ I still stand for everything I stood for all those years ago, and I’m ready to do battle again.”

He added:

“To everyone: Frank Zappa, John Denver, and I were all there that day before the      Senate committee on music censorship, but we were each very much alone when we went before them. We were on our own. We didn’t even compare notes. This is    my story.”
