In an interview with Louder Sound, Halestorm lead vocalist Lzzy Hale explained her views on the negative impact of social media, especially on young people.

Halestorm became one of the leading pop-rock groups of the 21st century. They have toured for many years. They even won a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance for the single ‘Love Bites (So Do I),’ which was a part of their second studio album.

They recently dropped their fifth studio album ‘Back From the Dead.’ After a few years of dealing with the pandemic, and lots of therapy sessions, Hale stated that this was the most personal and raw album that they ever came out with.

While Lzzy Hale admits that there is support and understanding to people on their social media pages, there are also people who prefer to judge and criticize others. Hale stated that social media had destructive powers where a single word could break or make a person. She also added that young people in particular need to be extra careful about living outside of their online presence, as this can ruin them.

Lzzy Hale‘s words on the destructive powers of social media:

“You can literally make someone’s world with a simple, kind word and you can also destroy their world with something stupid that you say online. A lot of young people think that online is the entire world, so you have to be extra-cautious about that.”

Now the band is on the road again after the pandemic, touring with such influential names as Mammoth WVH, Black Stone Cherry, and The Pretty Reckless.
