Brazilian icons Sepultura took their Instagram page to announce that they had to replace lead guitarist Andreas Kisser after an unexpected family emergency caused him to return home.
Sepultura released their fifteenth album ‘Quadra‘ in 2020, but the pandemic disrupted their touring plans. Although the shows were rescheduled several times, the band was due to perform on March 3, 2022.
With his band members, Andreas Kisser hit the road supporting their new record. However, their drummer Eloy Casagrande left briefly after breaking his right leg before the first performance of the rescheduled tour.
Following his departure, the band announced that Kisser also had to take some time off. Sepultura shared a statement on Instagram revealing that Kisser had to return home following a sudden family emergency.
The band also stated that the show needed to go on, so they asked Jean Patton to fill in until Kisser was ready to hit the road and perform again with the band. Their next show will take place at Kilkim Žaibu Festival with Project46 guitarist until Kisser’s return.
The IG capiton of Sepultura is as follows:
“Unfortunately, Andreas Kisser has returned home due to a family emergency. However, the show must go on, so we’ve tapped fellow Brazilian Jean Patton of Project46 to riff with until Andreas’ return.
Huge thanks to him for jumping in on short notice (practice is sounding great already!). Please join us in welcoming Jean and wishing Andreas the best in the comments below. Tour continues tomorrow at Festival Kilkim Žaibu!”
