A Perfect Circle guitarist Billy Howerdel joined an interview with Kerrang! and reflected his thoughts about a Puscifer classic that his bandmate and singer Maynard James Keenan created.
Puscifer dropped their EP ‘C Is for (Please Insert Sophomoric Genitalia Reference Here)’ on November 10, 2009. Later, Keenan used a song from it, ‘The Humbling River,’ on the soundtrack for the documentary movie ‘Blood into Wine,’ which drew significant attention.
The song’s touching lyrics and messages behind them influenced many young generations of musicians and Keenan’s peers. As one of them, Howerdel shared his appreciation and admiration for ‘The Humbling River’s quality. The guitarist stated that he was jealous of the track.
In addition, A Perfect Circle guitarist described it as one of the greatest songs that Keenan ever wrote. Howerdel said that he advised his son to use the track while doing a school project about wisdom and life lessons along with people’s perspectives toward them.
Here’s what Howerdel said regarding the song:
“It’s unbelievable. I’m jealous of that song, and it’s one of the best that Maynard has ever written. I found the lyrics and gave them to my son, who was doing a school project that was talking about the acknowledgment of wisdom and life lessons. It’s so powerful.”
