Yes, after what feels like years of talking about it, the new Megadeth album is about to take shape! The band has just taken to Instagram to post a mysterious and caption-less photo with the time (or I'm assuming date) of June 23. Mustaine recently revealed in an interview with Jose Mangin of SiriusXM Liquid Metal that Megadeth will release a new album called The Sick, The Dying, And The Dead tentatively this July (which feels unlikely now given it's the middle of June). The album features bass parts by Steve Di Giorgio of Testament (not LoMenzo) in place of Ellefson. Ellefson was fired from Megadeth back in May 2021 after a highly-publicized sexual affair and was removed from the album. Megadeth has also officially welcomed James LoMenzo as their permanent new bassist. LoMenzo has been filling in with Megadeth live ever since the departure of Ellefson, and was previously in the band between 2006 and 2010.
Megadeth will hit the road as openers for Five Finger Death Punch later this year at one of the dates below.
