Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale recently announced that she had close contact with COVID-19 and had to withdraw from hosting the She Rock Awards.
In a male-dominated industry like rock and roll, female rock stars have always had a challenging career, especially when it comes to acknowledgment. She Rock Awards are designed to acknowledge the female presence in the rock and roll world and show the world female artists’ power.
This year, the award show was supposed to be hosted by the iconic Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale. Being one of the most talented female artists in the rock and roll world and recently obtaining Gibson ambassadorship, giving the hosting duties to the rocker was a no-brainer.
However, Lzzy Hale sadly announced that she had to withdraw from hosting because she was in close contact with Covid and had to isolate herself via a post on Twitter and Instagram. On Twitter, she stated that she is taking the precautions to keep rock going. On Instagram, she congratulated all the honorees and said that she donated a Gibson Guitar and two Halestorm tickets for the show’s auction.
Here is what she stated on Twitter:
“To be clear. I have not tested positive yet. But I’m surrounded by people who have. So I’m taking the necessary precautions so that we can continue to make rock happen.”
Hale’s Instagram caption follows:
“After much deliberation, I have made the difficult decision not to be hosting the She Rocks Awards. I’m taking precautions due to recent exposure to Covid and doing the best I can to stay safe.
Congrats to all the honorees. I admire and love you all! And a pre congrats to the entire She Rocks team on what I know will be another fantastic show celebrating the power of women!
