Coroner is finally recording their much-talked about new album. The new album will be their first since Grin in 1993, and will also b the band's first to feature drummer Diego Rapacchietti. According to guitarist Tommy T. Baron in an interview with 69 Faces Of Rock, Coroner has begun recording eight new songs, six of which are done and two are just missing parts from bassist and vocalist Ron Royce. Baron adds that Coroner is planning on writing and recording one more, and then "we'll see what happens."
"Yes. I know we've promised that for years now… yeah, people already made jokes about it, I totally understand. But you know, sometimes life is difficult. But we've actually started the recording. We have started recording drums, six songs are recorded and two more songs are ready, but Ron's part is missing and then we have to write another one, and then we hit the studio and record it. And…we'll see what happens."
Baron said part of the delay in writing the record is due to his job of being a music producer. "I'm a record producer. I record bands all day," he added. "I have like, nine hours of recording a band. You can't go home and write [songs after that]. It's just not possible. The creativity is all gone during the day."
So stay tuned for new Coroner!
