Following the departure of their guitarist Jen Majura, Evanescence shared a Facebook post to announce her replacement. The band introduced their new guitarist and a new bassist to their fans.
Evanescence has changed many line-ups since the beginning of the band’s career in 1995. During the process of the first two albums’ promotion and creation, David Hodges, co-founder Ben Moody, John LeCompt, and Rocky Gray parted ways with the band. As a result of these changes, the band’s five studio albums did not include the same line-up.
Regardless of line-up changes, the band kept on creating, and they released their recent album named ‘The Bitter Truth‘ in March 2021. The group made the first promotion of the album at Jimmy Kimmel Live! Show and would continue to support the record with a world tour beginning in June 2022.
However, there came news from the band about a member’s departure in the previous days. The group announced that the guitarist Jen Majura had parted ways with the band on their official Twitter account. They expressed good wishes to Majura and added they would always support her. Evanescence would inform the fans about the new guitarist replacing Jen Majura.
The band recently shared a Facebook post introducing the group’s bassist Tim McCord as the new guitarist. As the group stated, McCord was initially playing guitar, and he was excellent at it. Evanescence also introduced Sick Puppies’ Emma Anzai as the new bassist mentioning they have been friends for a long time. They indicated Anzai would have two duties as the band would play with Sick Puppies in an upcoming show.
In their Facebook post, Evanescence penned:
“Ladies and gentlemen, we have some very big news to share. Introducing our new guitarist, Tim McCord! After 16 years in the band as our rock-solid bass player, Tim is taking a turn on his original instrument. Spoiler alert- he’s great at it.
And on bass, it is our extreme pleasure to welcome the incredibly talented Emma Anzai of Sick Puppies! We’ve been friends and fans for years, and the time has finally come to join forces.
Emma will be pulling double duty as we have some shows with Sick Puppies coming up soon, so get ready for that! We are all very excited to bring this new formation to the stage for the first time in Athens on June 5. See you soon!”
The band and the fans are very excited to see the new line-up together on stage in the upcoming shows. Evanescence stated that their new formation would be on stage in Athens on June 5, so their fans would see if this new line-up works together for the band.
