Erik Rutan joined Cannibal Corpse as their full-time guitarist in 2020, but has produced every one of the band's records since Kill in 2006 (minus A Skeletal Domain in 2014 which was produced by Mark Lewis). Now in an interview with Decibel Magazine, Rutan has named the band's 1994 album The Bleeding and 2006's Kill as the two records he'd like to play in full live… and maybe Tomb Of The Mutilated.

"You know, it's tough because there's like all these different era and iterations of Cannibal Corpse in my opinion. And I'm not speaking just about like, Barnes and Corpsegrinder of course.

"I guess you'd say, [the quintessential] albums of course would be like The Bleeding because I think that's just, like considered pretty much a Cannibal Corpse classic in my opinion. Just to think of how many songs we – even before I was in the band, of course – played off The Bleeding at random times. There [are] just so many great songs. But man, I mean Kill would be another record that I think would be great. I feel like that was some kind of turning point for the band [in the] sense of the direction that Kill went in.[Those are] two great records of many records."

Rutan later jokes that "we could do like a tour for every record." Which would be awesome, but would also be 15 full tours. It would also mean at some point having to play "Frantic Disembowelment" every single night, reducing everyone in the band's limbs and digits to nubs (according to Setlist.fm, band has played the song once ever live in 2004).

Cannibal Corpse will headline Decibel's Metal & Beer Fest happening this June 10 and 11 alongside Candlemass playing Epicus Doomicus Metallicus in full. Check that all out here.
