Trivium recently shared a post on their official Twitter account and revealed that Megadeth is one of their biggest influences that inspired them throughout their whole career.
Megadeth would initially embark on a co-headlining tour in North America, named ‘The Metal Tour of the Year‘ in the summer of 2020. The band would join its forces with Lamb of God, Trivium, and In Flames as support acts. However, the tour had to be postponed to the summer of 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. They also faced some problems related to the travel restrictions at the time.
During the first leg of ‘The Metal Tour of the Year,’ the bands hit almost thirty cities across North America. The tour was an enormous success and gathered many metal fans. Following the success of the first leg, they decided to continue with the second leg. The second leg kicked off on April 9 in Las Vegas and recently ended on May 15 in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
In their recent Twitter post, Trivium shared a photo of them taken with Megadeth members and wrote they had a fantastic time during the tour’s second leg. Then, they tagged Megadeth by referring to them as one of their biggest influences that inspired them throughout their whole musical journey. They thanked Megadeth for encouraging them to be on the metal scene.
The band’s Twitter post read:
“And that’s a wrap! We had an amazing coming back across North America on the second leg of ‘The Metal Tour Of The Year.’ Megadeth is one of our biggest influences that inspired us to do what we do, and we thank them for having us out.”
