CSNY icon David Crosby spoke to Best Classic Bands and revealed that he made a significant decision about his career. Crosby also explained the reason why he wanted to retire.

With his commercially successful and popular career with the Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Crosby created and shared some of the most significant rock music works. Later, after parting ways with the band due to personal reasons and creative differences, he proved himself as a solo artist.

Crosby’s solo works became best-sellers and were listened to a lot, and the iconic musician performed countless live concerts as parts of his tours. However, he couldn’t play for two years because of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, which paralyzed the music industry.

Moreover, Crosby revealed that he wouldn’t start touring after the pandemic because he decided to retire from live performances. According to the singer, the main reasons for this decision were his age and lack of stamina or strength to play and sing the songs he used to do.

Here’s what the reporter asked:

“Are you going to tour anymore?”

Crosby responded:

“No. I’m not because I’m 80. It’s because I’m old. Being on a bus tour is a daunting task. It’s very hard. It takes it out of you. I’m too old to do it anymore. I don’t have the stamina; I don’t have the strength.”

David Crosby released his latest and eighth studio album entitled ‘For Free’ on July 23, 2021, which got critical acclaim like many of his works. It can be said that the musician will be productive and successful for a very long time.
