Guns N’ Roses recently topped Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart with their timeless hit ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ after it appeared in the trailer of the movie ‘Thor: Love And Thunder.’
For decades, Guns N’ Roses remains one of the greatest hard rock bands, with hits that never get old. Throughout their music career, the band has sold millions of records worldwide and released music efforts that stayed at the top of music charts.
In 1987, Guns N’ Roses released their debut album titled ‘Appetite For Destruction.’ Following its release, the album became a huge success and reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart with the help of their top 10 singles ‘Paradise City,’ ‘Welcome To The Jungle,’ and ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine.’
‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ also has another importance. It’s the only GN’R single that has reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. When the band re-released the song in 1989, it also reached number 6 on the UK Singles Chart. To this day, ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ still appears at the top of the lists.
Recently, ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ appeared in the teaser trailer for the American superhero film ‘Thor: Love And Thunder.’ The teaser was released on April 18, 2022, and the film is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 8.
The song got 4.7 million US streams following this appearance, revealing an 8% increase. Moreover, it got 1600 downloads which marked a 181% increase in the week the teaser premiered. In addition, ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ also topped Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart and re-entered the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart.
