Mastodon drummer Brann Dailor recently gave an interview to Revolver Magazine and stated that Slipknot’s late drummer Joey Jordison was like a beast while playing drums.

Known as one of the greatest drummers of all time, Joey Jordison rose to prominence as a member of Slipknot. However, he had also performed with several other prominent music acts such as Metallica, Korn, Rob Zombie, and more.

On July 26, 2021, Joey Jordison passed away at 46. His untimely death shocked his former Slipknot band members, fans, and family. Moreover, many of his fellow musicians expressed their sincere condolences on social media.

In a recent interview with Revolver Magazine, Mastodon drummer Brann Dailor paid tribute to Joey Jordison and remembered the late drummer. He stated that Jordison was a beast as a drummer, and he was a pretty energetic person on and off stage.

Moreover, Dailor said Jordison’s brain was constantly working with new ideas, and he was happy to be alive. He then stated he would miss Jordison, and his work as Slipknot’s drummer would echo through heavy metal history forever.

In the interview with Revolver, Brann Dailor said about Joey Jordison the following:

As a drummer, the guy was a beast. He was this little guy, but his double bass was just insane, and he was just a ball of energy both onstage and offstage. He had so many ideas, and his brain was always going nonstop. He was just happy to be alive. He was a fun person to be around.

I really loved that guy, and I’m going to miss him so much. But he gave the world so much in such a short period of time. I think his drumming presence and his work with Slipknot will echo through heavy-metal history forever.

Suffering from acute transverse myelitis, Jordison had to leave Slipknot in 2013 as he couldn’t play drums. However, whether his passing is related to this disease remains unknown.
